Welcome to the website for Toby Legacy, of Barrie, Ontario as he fufills his legacy as the great ball player he is. Most recently with the CBL's Niagara Stars, Toby is now OFF TO AUSTRALIA to play winter ball. Stay posted as we follow his experiences down under!!
Until the untimely demise of the Canadian Baseball League, Toby Legacy played second base for The Niagara Stars. Canadians everywhere are hoping that the promises to get the league up and running again in 2004 materialize. Only two weeks into the 2003 season and Legacy had already been singled out as " a Canadian to watch". We agree... this boy is going places and his fans will be cheering him on, all the way! GO TOBY !!!!
The unexpected and early end to the CBL season has left Legacy, along with all of the other CBL players, in limbo. The news of the CBL shut down came just days after the roster deadlines for other leagues, leaving the players out in the cold. Viewing this latest turn of events as an opportunity for another door to open, Toby remains positive and continues to focus on what is important, playing ball.
Stay tuned folks, the journey continues.......

Sunday, May 20, 2001 Legacy walks to weekly honour
By BOB ELLIOTT -- For Major League Baseball Canada We've heard of a manager paying a hitter high compliments before.
Like former Arizona Diamondbacks manager Buck Showalter: up by two runs, walking San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds intentionally with the bases loaded to force in a run. When the next hitter flew out, Showalter escaped with the win.
Now that was respect.
Yet ever have we seen an example of the respect head coach Wayne Riser, of the Shepherd Rams, paid a high shortstop Toby Legacy of the Concord Mountain Lions at the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball tournament in Princeton, WV.
Five times Legacy was walked intentionally -- not once with men on second or third and first base open the conventional wisdom expounded by most coaches.
For the rest of the story...
